I am not in Brussels, but I follow this conference almost as I were there

This week is being held the European Sustainable Energy Week.

It is an important event in the field of energy and sustainability -including the Brussels´conference as a summit- and embraces a number of interesting activities.

Unfortunately, I could´t go to Brussels: the registration deadlines were nearly exceeded. In addition, even if I could get registered, trip and accommodations costs should be too high. The proposed media partnership [1] could make it easier in advance, but I was no aware of it (an interesting media partnership, indeed…)

However, I am following the conference in real time, from home, by means of the streaming that the own organization set up in the Internet.

Of course, despite that the web stream is working quite well, at this point all this systems is not anything extraordinary: video cameras, broadband Internet connections and some interfaces to watch it.

What is indeed extraordinary is the growing trend from may organizations putting at the disposal of large audiences such events: a high level policy conference, in this case. That is a proof of collaborationism, transparency, democracy, live up to the greatest achievements of the Internet.

At home, in front of the computer, watching from european commissioners showing the highest energy policies to workgroups discussing how to trace the great decisions.

I could´t attend, but I will follow the conference almost as I were there.
