Quality universal education, maybe the greatest success of the Internet

The map you see below represents the distribution of registered students throughout the globe in one of the two online courses I enrolled in some weeks ago, and shows in part why we are in front of something amazing:

eDX_mooc_distribution

451 students from centre and south America, 399 from Africa and approximately other two hundreds of students from other areas from all around the world with very scarce resources, are receiving a course of the Deltf University of Technology, in Netherlands.

The fact is self explaining. If I -privileged citizen of Europe, where education and other resources are a given- am getting fascinated with the possibility of receiving this courses, I can´t imagine how will feel all those people from remote places where there are much more difficulties to get an education.

I make a mental review of humankind history, and come very few initiatives as magnificent as this.

What do you think?
