Managing stress and psychosocial risks at work, in the next EU-OSHA´s campaign

This post is also available in: Spanish

  • Stress and psychosocial risks are the second most frequently reported work-related health problem in Europe;
  • Along with other psychosocial risks, stress is thought to account for more than a half (50-60%) of all lost working days.

These are just a pair of statistics showing the importance that psychosocial, among other emerging risks at work have reached in the latest time, ahead -but not forgetting- the “traditional safety” as some great organizations already refer to the classic disciplines of risk prevention.

It is the sign of the times. Can you imagine what should say about this the workers involved in the erection of the Brooklyn Bridge more than 130 years ago?.

HW2014-2015

So that’s why the next European Agency for Safety and Health at Work´s campaign is dedicated to managing stress and psychosocial risks at work.

The campaign will be officially launched by next 10 april 2014 and will finish on november 2015 with a summit as the one held last november for the previous 2012-2013 campaign.

From april, one and a half year with huge content, research, new lines of work and many more initiatives ahead of which stay tuned of.

Should you be an occupational safety and health professional and want to be in the state-of-the-art, stay tuned. If no, pay also close attention: as a worker and even as a citizen, the new studies on stress and psychosocial risks really interest you.

From the point of view of this blog, I will try to renew the partnership with the EU-OSHA Agency established for the previous campaign. It is the best collaboration available in the Internet for a blog like this and renewing the media partnership is my main objective for this year.

Anyway, with or without collaboration, I will follow the campaign.
