Up to now, the most important statement on environment ever issued was likely the one by United States´ president Obama read on june 2013 about the global environment.
It was an ambitious lecture on climate change, at the level of words by other worldwide influential persons. But it is not the same a minister or former president became climatic activist to release certain statements, than if words come from the US president in one of the most important events in its country. Obama was brave.
And, when it seems that the climatic problem can´t be said higher, Vatican Radio announced that Pope Francis started to draft a document on global ecology which may be released as an encyclical. It may be titled “Human ecology” or so.
Behind an Apostolic Constitution, an encyclical is the most important document a Pope can issue, and it is dedicated to real paramount themes.
Taking into account other surprising words by Pope Francis about public concerns during his current papacy, it would´t be unexpected a such high statement dedicated to environment.
The document is in an early stage and when will be released is still unknown but if it finally becomes real, the Pope Francis´ environmental encyclical may be -regardless religious beliefs- the most important statement on environment ever issued on Earth as it is in Heaven.
It could be said clearer, but higher?.
